Hi everyone and welcome back to my blog for another post. I know that March is nearly over but I thought this would be the perfect chance to do my first ever monthly favourites post. I’ve read these before and watched videos on them so I wanted to give it a shot myself and find out if this is something that you guys would like to see. So I’m gonna talk you through, as quickly as I can, some of my favourite things that I’ve loved in the month of February. I’m gonna split this into categories. Fashion. So this month I discovered the wonder that is COW vintage. They have a store in Birmingham, in the Digbeth part of town, and oh my god I am so OBSESSED. They have quirky stuff and one-off pieces. All sorts of fabulous things. And they have new stock coming in all the time so there is always something new to check out and there is something for everyone. I have made a few purchases already. I got a mickey mouse jumper and some cropped t-shirts. I love them all and the prices aren’t totally ridiculous either, depending on what you get obviously but the tops are reasonable. They have tote bags too so if you wanna ditch the plastic you can grab one of them and help the planet a bit. They have other stores in Manchester, Sheffield and Nottingham I believe so go check them out if that’s near you. You can follow their insta too, it’s @weareCOW and each store has it’s own insta page too. The next fashion thing is something I literally got a few weeks ago but holy crap they have taken over my life and I refuse to shut up about it. So you may have seen on my stories that I have recently fallen out with topshop denim in a massive way because they don’t know how to size their jeans… I have literally got three pairs that all fit me differently and some that I am gonna sell or donate because they are just not right. Anyway. I decided to research plus size jeans online and then the beautiful thing that is asos came in and saved the day. So I ordered some plus size light blue mom jeans and I have basically lived in them since them arrived. They fit like a dream, are super comfy (even on my thunder thighs), good for uni and for work. But most importantly they are sized properly and reminded me that I am not gaining weight and that it was another stores shitty sizing that was the issue. So from now on I am gonna be ordering my jeans online because I have more confidence they will fit me and make me feel good as well as looking good. Apps. There are two apps that I have been loving a lot in February. The first one is called InShot. I used this to edit my mini vlog that is on my IGTV channel and my come to Ikea with me video too. I’ve also just used it to help me with some uni work as well, it’s brilliant. It is so so easy to use. Until using this app I had never edited a video in my life so if a total novice like me can use it then anyone can. I love it because you can easily add music and you can save it into so many formats. So I saved mine for IGTV but I could have saved it in a youtube format or a normal instagram post format as well. It is a free app but I have paid for a year long subscription which gives me more filters and effects for the videos and the subscription removes the InShot watermark and branding from the final video. Makes it more personal to me. So if anyone wants to take the plunge and make video content then I can totally recommend this app as a great place to start for editing. The other app I have been loving is Pinterest. This is a gem. And any of my blogger babes or content creators I implore you to get this or reactivate your old account. I reactivated mine at the end of January and have consistently used the app. I now have tailored boards for everything: travel, interiors, aesthetics and I also have my instagram account linked up to it so I have boards with my insta pics on too. Its brilliant, easy to use and really has helped me get more exposure. The best part: it’s totally free. Even the business account upgrade that I did to my profile to get more stats. Let’s just put it this way. I reached over 140,000 monthly views on my profile in about 6 weeks of using the app. And I literally spend maybe 20/30 minutes on it a day which isn’t all that long in the grand scheme of things. So what are you waiting for… GO GET IT. Food. it’s no secret that I am a massive foodie and my whole day revolves around what im gonna be eating. So this month I have discovered the wonder that is an açai bowl. THEY ARE HEAVEN. And also completely VEGAN, depending on where you go. Ive had two now and am a total convert. So you have a base of the açai then add things like chia seeds, banana, pomegranate, coconut shavings and lots of other yummy things. They are so so healthy but so good. And pretty too which is a bonus, check my insta feed if you want proof of this. Then the other foodie things is a classic. At least it is for me. Might be a midlands thing. I have fallen back in love with bread and jam. Yes you heard me, bread and jam. I was at home and was starving and my mom suggested the idea. And OH MY GOD. It’s brilliant and now I live on it. I mean I love bread anyway but this just upgrades it big time. My life has been changed. The best way to have it if you’re curious is: seedless raspberry jam (hartleys is the best if you can get it) and then mega thick white bread (roberts do a fab loaf of this stuff). So simple but so good. Happy snacking my loves. Lifestyle. The next thing is my Ikea wooden tray table. I’ve explained about this amazing thing already so if you wanna go see the then click HERE and read my Ikea haul post. But basically it’s amazing and means I can eat everything in bed now. Grandma life to the max. Then we have my set of gel pens from MUJI. Muji is a gorggg store and I legit want everything from the shop. Oops. But these pens are amazing and make writing uni notes so easy because there are 12 colours in the pack so I an colour code everything and they are just so nice to write with regardless. The set was £16 I think which I don’t think is too bad but when they run out you can just buy ink refills for them which is brilliant so you wont have to pay the full amount again. So if you are a student or a stationary nerd like me then you need these in your life. Another fave is my little gym kit bag. So it’s a little rainbow bag / pouch and in there I keep my gym locker padlock, a mini deodorant, a body spray and some micellar wipes. I love this. it’ small enough that it fits in my uni bag but it’s big enough to fit in the essentials that I need for the gym. I also keep my jewellery in there so it’s safe, I take everything off when I workout to avoid any nasty accidents or losing anything. I cant remember the price of it. But it wasn’t expensive and it’s so so cute and I’d be lost without it. I've linked a similar one HERE as I can't seem to find the actual one anymore. The stock must have changed. Beauty. I have one beauty fave this month. I got a Too Faced gift set from my godmom this Christmas and I am so obsessed with it. It’s three triangle palettes that when stacked up look like a mini xmas tree. Cute I know. But my favourite one is the smallest one. It is the cheek palette and it’s gorgeous. I’ve used it so many times already and if I keep on I'll be hitting the pan before I know it. It gives a gorgeous glow to my skin, especially the highlighter. I can defo recommend it but I have no idea if you can get it now as it was a christmas thing. Media. In terms of media things I have two faves this month. The first one is OBVIOUS: it’s FRIENDS. I honest to god love this show so much. The characters, the fashion, the actors, the fact that it’s set in New York but mainly it’s so damn HILARIOUS and it gives me the perfect escape from life when I need it. We all do now and then. The other media fave is my chill playlist on Spotify. I listen to this virtually every day. I created it from scratch and I love adding to it and finding new music and I’ve discovered so many new artists as a result. It has songs for when I wanna sleep, study, relax or just want something on in the background that sounds nice. Also good for driving too funnily enough. Ugh I just love music so much. Random. And then one final fave is something that has become a little tradition now. And that is going out for dinner and / or a coffee with my mom in Birmingham every Thursday night, when we both can. We’ve done it 3 times now and we have another one booked in. It’s just so cute. I love my nice food and cocktails and I’m so lucky that my mom is able to treat me like she does. One of the cutest things about it is picking her up from the train station and then when she goes home again we both wave like mad at each other. It's hilarious because normally it's me on the train and not her. she's only started using the train recently to meet me like this, she usually drives. But I hope we can carry on this tradition because I love it so much and look forward to it every week now. So there we have it my friends. Those are my February favourites. I know this post is a little late but I have honestly been so so busy and tied down by university and assignments that I advent had the time to sit and write or focus on my blog as much as I'd like to. But I hope you enjoyed this and as soon as I get another chance to write I will get another post up for you. If you got this far thank you for reading, I really do appreciate it and I hope you found something in there you liked and might look into yourselves, especially the apps or food ones. Let me know if you do try anything or check anything out that I mentioned. Or just talk to me anyway. It’s my fave thing about all this: talking to you all. But for now I’ll say goodbye and i'll see you all soon (hopefully) for another post. Love Jade xxx
