Hi everyone and welcome back to my blog for another post. Hope you’re all okay and looking after yourselves. So this week’s post is a very exciting one for me to write… DRUM ROLL PLEASE… It’s an Ikea haul. So as you may or may not have seen on my instagram stories. I went to Ikea with my mom a few weeks ago. I had been begging her to go for ages and she finally caved in when I was at home for a weekend. YAY. So I thought I would use this post to share with you guys some of the things I bought while I was there. DISCLAIMER: my mom did pay for the majority of this. Just thought you should know in case anyone is like how can a young student who only does one shift a week afford all this. I can’t is the answer. But my mom is in a fortunate position financially to be able to treat me like this every now and then. I’m just a VERY lucky girly basically who has an amazing mom. Now I will say before we start that I did go a little crazy, especially with the bowls, plates and mugs. Mom had to drag me out of that section of the market hall. I have no shame. None. But yeah I hope that you guys like this little haul and maybe you will find something you might like to buy yourselves or think is cute. Just trying to help you all out. Taking one for the team :)) You’re most welcome hehehe. But for now, go grab a cuppa and a snack and we can get stuck into this haul. This could be a long one. So let’s begin. Ikea Haul February 2019 !!!! So I took the pictures in two and halved what I had instead of doing everything individually because a gal has to study and write essays left right and centre so this was the quickest way to do it so you can see everything. But i’m gonna describe each thing by itself and if I can remember the price I’ll add it in for you. Nothing I picked was over £50. Just for reference. So first of all I’ll tell you that there is one other thing that I bought but it isn’t pictured because it’s not really worth seeing. It is a basic white cushion. You’ll see later on in the haul why I got this. It was only £2.50 and it for the price it feels soft and a good squidgy cushion that you can lean on and get chilled. But also sturdy enough to take a cover and look good as a decoration. So. Image number one. We have a host of things. So to begin. Buried at the bottom, of both images, is a white rectangle thing. Now this thing is A M A Z I N G. It is a dinner tray. Which means… HELLO BREAKFAST IN BED ALL THE TIME. But yeah I got this for uni because I eat most of my food in my room and having this means that I can put my plates / bowls on the tray instead of having to put them on my bed sheets. I get paranoid I’m gonna ruin my bed whenever I eat and get curry stains on them but this genius contraption removes my fear. HURRAH. This was only £12 and I think that is such a good price to be fair. I’ve used it so much already and I can defo recommend it. Next we have a little trio of cactus plants. Now these are fake ones. BRILLIANT. They look cute but I have to ZERO to keep them alive. I cant look after plants, soz guys. It’s just not my forté in life. Then we have a little glass jug. I got this to fill up with water as an incentive to myself to drink more when I’m in my flat particularly at night time when I’m alone. It is working so far and it look cute on my desk at uni. I think this was under £4 but don’t quote me on it. But either way it wasn’t expensive at all. Then we have some muffin mix. LEMON muffin mix to be precise. I love muffins and I love lemon. It's a win win situation guys!!! This was £2 I think??? Then we have an adorable set of 4 mugs in a box. They are little but PERFECT in a morning when I want a drink but dont have time to drink a massive mug. I love the designs and the colours of them. The set I believe costs £10 or £12 but when you divide that by four it’s a maximum of £3 a mug which is pretty good. Next up we have a series of bowls. I got a small yellow one to put dips or sauces in… thats what I told my mom and it is partly true… really I just loved the colour of it and thought it would be cuteeee for pictures on the new bed table. I got a medium sized pink one to match a bigger pink one that I already have so now I have the twins!!! And then I got the blue bowl. I just adored the shape of this, it’s so unusual. Like, it’s round but has the square on the bottom. Brilliant. Plus the colour is beauts. Then the little wooden thing you can see is believe it or not a piece of genius. It is a phone holder. So you lot your phone into the hole and it stands by itself at a slightly tilted angle. Great if you are on FaceTime or skype a lot… NO MORE DEAD HAND!!!! This was £10 I believe and they also have a bigger one for tablets and ipads. And then the last thing from the first image is a set a 30 tea lights. They have a vanilla scent, CLASSIC, and they cost £1.70. 30 tea lights for that small price. This is why I love Ikea. They last a long time to be fair. I use them when im in the bath and put them on the windowsill and they normally last around 3 baths and I’m normally in the bath for about an hour. You do the math on that one. Basically. Cheap but good. WINNER. Moving on to the second image. So at the back we have a wooden thing. This is another piece of genius. It is... A laptop table. So I can sit in bed and do work but I don’t have to sit upright or hunched over while typing. I can get into bed. Shove all my pillows and cushions behind me. Get comfy af. Put this lil table over me and then sit and work. The table is tilted so it’s at a nice typing angle for your wrists as well. It’s not dead flat when you open it out. I love it so much and it is already saving me from back ache. I think it was around £15. Next I got a little cafetier. I love my coffee and I thought this would be a nice little addition to my ever growing tea and coffee and juts my general hot drink collection. The next thing I picked up was a set of two desk tidy boxes. I adore these. These were something I knew I wanted before I went to Ikea and I was determined to find some. I chose the wooden ones because they seemed stronger and more sturdy than the other types. I have them at uni and it’s made such a difference to my desk space. I can actually see the desk again now, it was covered it paper and other crap before. it’s also easier to keep my desk clean now that everything is contained in them. A WIN. Moving on, we have a glass teapot. I love this because in the middle of it is a strainer so I can use this for ALL of my teas. Result!!! I use instant tea (from Whittards, guys it’s amazing), loose leaf tea (mainly from my trips to Asia and I bring it home with me and good old traditional tea bags (the failsafe option). So yeah this pot is multi purpose and I’m pretty sure it’s gonna change my life. If you are a tea lover like me who wants to upgrade your grandma status then you need this. Then something a little less exciting but I got a pack of cot hangers. White ones obviously so it matches my room aesthetic at home. My colour scheme is white and grey in case anyone is interested. But yeah £8 for a pack of 4. So pretty reasonable.probably gonna get some more if I can go back soon. My plastic ones keep snapping and they need a refresh so I thought why not. Then I picked up a cushion cover, now you understand why I bought a plain cushion before… hehe told you it would make sense. But I saw the cover first and loved it and then mom was like oh the cushions are only 2.50 so grab one here. So I did. Cant wait to sort this out and get it on my bed asap. Will do this when I next go home I think. Another thing for. My room at home is a new duvet and pillowcase set. I take a double but they have it in single and king size too. It is so colourful and I cant wait to have it on my bed really soon. Not gonna lie I can’t wait to use it as a blog or instagram picture background because hello PRETTY COLOURS and AESTHETIC MUCH. This was either £25 or £30 in think which is pretty good. Mine was the middle size so the middle price if that makes sense: the single was slightly cheaper and the king is slightly more expensive. Then a little thing for uni again. I got a little wooden pen pot. Just a little thing to help keep my desk tidy. I dont know whats happened to me. Im turning into a clean tidy freak like my mom looool. But it does look cute to be fair. I believe it was around £4 so defo affordable. And the last thing I bought in this haul is a spot light. In the little box on the bottom left of the picture. It’s rose gold, of course it is, its me were talking about, but they had black, white and silver too (i think). I wanted an in between light for uni. Because the main lights in my room at uni are BRIGHT and jade likes to live in bat mode. But my little unicorn lamp is quite dim so I wanted something in the middle and this is perfect. I love it. Like a lot. It has a clip on the bottom so you can clip it to any table or surface really. And the he’d of it can be bent nd adjusted to any angle you want, within reason. Making it really practical and multi purpose. It was only £12 as well so a reasonable price. It plugs in at the main and uses LED bulbs so they last longer, in theory. And there we have it. That completes my (rather big) Ikea haul. I’m so sorry with my lack of memory on the prices front, but I genuinely cant remember. I’m such a bad blogger oooops. I hope you guys enjoyed that one. I honestly had the best day there with my mom. We were both getting so into everything and it made us wanna move house so we could decorate everything lolz. But If anything I was living my best grandma life and acting like I have my life together when really… I don’t have a f*****g clue what I’m doing at this whole life game. So it was nice to feel like I had it all under control for a few hours at least. We are already planning another trip back there. If you guys enjoyed this please let me know and if you would like to see more haul type blog posts from me then let me know either in the comments below or dm me on instagram. I love talking to you guys so much. If you got this far then give yourself a round of applause and thank you for reading it all. I love you all so much. I will see you next weekend or in the week for another post. Love Jade xxx
