Hello everyone and welcome back to my blog for another post. So I ran a poll on my instagram stories during the week and you guys decided that you’d like to read this post first so your wish is my command :) But seriously I hope you enjoy this one. I had to think of unusual stuff to put in and I had a few laughs along the way trying to think of things. So yeah, I came up with this little list. I can always do another post like this in the future if you guys would like that if you like this one and if I can think of anymore unusual things about myself. So here we go… brace yourselves. Ready… Ten things you may not know about me:
1. I am an only child. Yep. I don’t have a sibling even though I would have loved a sister to go shopping with, go to gigs with or just go for avo on toast with tbh. But yeah, it’s just me and I got used to that quite quickly: Passing the time playing by myself with dolls, having teddy bear movie nights (each one having a special place so no one was left out) or when I was on holiday and would make friends with people there so I would have someone to play with. I think this has helped me become so independent and so carefree in doing stuff by myself because it’s always been like that so I just get on with it. 2. I nearly went to an all girls school for secondary education, but I failed the exam. Actually, I nearly fainted by the end of it so it wasn’t really a surprise but I was kinda gutted at the time. Basically 11 year old jadey wasn’t as clever as 13, 16 or 18 year old jadey. 3. My first time on a plane when I was one years old. It was a flight from Birmingham to Faro in Portugal. So my first holiday was to the Algarve region in southern Portugal. Might explain why I have such a fond connection to it even now. 4. I have IBS. That stands for Irritable Bowel Syndrome. It’s not temporary, I will have this for life unless they magically find a cure for it across my lifetime. I have prescription medication that I take for it but only when I need it. So basically when my stomach is trying to kill me and stab me to death from the inside out I take a small tablet and it stops the pain, quite quickly to be fair. But honestly, it’s a nuisance. The pain can spring up whenever it wants to and I have to be careful with my diet, particularly with dairy products as that's my trigger (that's why I alternate between normal milk and dairy free milks). But I’m getting to grips with it and I’m a lot better now than I was a few years ago when I was first diagnosed. 5. My natural hair is curly, like tight ass ‘looks like I used a curler’ curly. Yessss it’s true. I was a curly ball as a kid and because of the magical powers of GHD’s, that I discovered at age 12 and my life was changed forever, that isn’t very obvious to see in photos nowadays. When I was reaallyyy small, mainly when I was a baby, my mom had to use an afro comb on me because normal combs or brushes just couldn’t get through the curls as they were so tight. 6. When I was born I had a massive birthmark across my forehead. Yep. This one freaked me out when I was told about it because I had no clue as there is no trace of it on my face anymore. Thankfully it faded so it wasn’t a permanent birthmark otherwise I would have been seen from a mile off and I would have looked kinda silly. 7. I was 6 years old when I went to my first ever gig. Yeah. Been living the gig life since 2006. The gig was girls aloud’s chemistry tour. It was so amazing. And at that age I was completely mind blown that the girls were literally THERE in front of me. Safe to say I did a lot of screaming. It would have been even younger but when Girls Aloud did their first tour I was only four years old and the minimum age limit was five years old. My mom was fully prepared to take me and just put the protective ear muffs on me but I was literally months too young. Gutting. But this set me up for life because I’m still a gig fanatic now, just like my mom was at my age really. So thanks momma for introducing me to the whole music scene and giving me the very infectious and addictive concert buzz bug :) 8. I used to have a bunny rabbit. She was called Bessie, don’t ask about the name she already had it when I got her I think. Or I was a very weird child. Probably both. But I had to give her away because she got kinda vicious and every time I went to feed her and clean out her hutch I basically got attacked and had scratch / bite marks all over my hands and arms. 9. I'm terrified of spiders, needles and i’m such a nervous traveller (i have a fear of being kicked off a flight when I get to check in, due to a bad experience where this actually happened). Yeah I’m basically a nervous wreck, but I’m working on all of these and I am getting better now at dealing with them. But the travel one still gets me a little and the ol’ heart starts pounding whenever I’m at check in at the airport or going through security. 10. The last one. I’ve saved the best one and my fave one to the end. I’ve met a member of the royal family!!! Now my loves there’s a story to this one. So I was 8/9 years old and I was on holiday in Egypt with my mom, dad and my nan. We were there doing all the touristy type stuff to do with ancient Egypt and the tombs as I was doing it at school at the time, my dad got me the trip for Christmas that year. We were staying near Luxor and we decided to go to the nicest hotel around for an afternoon tea type thing one day. Then suddenly, as I’m drinking my hot chocolate, loads of security and photographers started gathering in reception so we wonder over to be nosey and then low and behold… PRINCESS BEATRICE walks into the hotel. She saw us and came over and stopped to say hello to us (much to the annoyance of her security) and was asking us if we were enjoying ourselves. So I told her I was here to learn about ancient Egypt because I was doing it at school. She was honestly so lovely to me considering I was so young and was kinda freaking out that I was meeting a real life princess. At age 8 this is a big thing guys. I even did a little curtsy in front of her, I probably looked silly but I wanted to be polite. So yeah that happened and to this day I still cant believe it. It happened by total chance and it was so random. I hope you enjoyed that guys. I had some fun being all nostalgic writing it, particularly with the last one. Let me know below in the comments which thing was your favourite one or which thing surprised you the most that you didn’t know about me. Thank you for reading and I’ll see you in my next post. Love Jade xxx
